With 95 percent of consumers living outside the United States, the future prosperity of American agriculture depends largely on the ability to sell to foreign markets. Farm Bureau will strive to continue its work to open markets, expand economic development and support a strong rules-based trading system. Farm Bureau is fighting for access to global markets for U.S. agricultural products, Free Trade Agreements with Colombia, Korea, and Panama, and access to international markets for products of agricultural biotechnology. Access in all of these areas is crucial for the competitiveness of U.S. agriculture.
